Know Your Line

Do you have good boundaries? Do you know how to set them, honor them and adjust them with the people and situations in your life? It seems to me that “boundary” has become a popular buzz word to describe what went wrong in certain situations, yet more definition, self-refection and responsibility might be needed.

Beyond Illusions: What is Real?

We all live in our own reality. We see the world through our lenses – bringing our thoughts, feelings, perspectives, history, experiences, outlook, perceptions, assumptions, habits, strengths and yes, judgments. We constantly judge, “Is this good or bad? How do I line up or compare to others? Am I doing ‘it’ right?”

We search for meaning – an “okayness” – with our piece of life, questioning: “What is authentic and real?” Our reality is just that, OUR reality and what is true for us.

Excavate Your Creative Self

When I attended my first Life Coaching training more than a decade ago, one of the first things I learned is that everyone is “creative, resourceful and whole; and they have their answers inside themselves.” I understood people were fully capable of finding solutions but what I did not recognize at the time is how powerful and provocative tapping into one’s creative source can be.

Many people tend to put their creativity on hold, saving artistic things for when they have extra time, money and resources. So, where do you start? What does it take to awaken the dormant, creative soul?

You may have heard of ESP, intuition or even someone’s psychic abilities to provide answers to the unknown, or even make predictions about what is happening in the past, present or future. Do you ever wonder if that sixth sense is valid? And if so, who has it, where does it come from, how is it used and why is it important?

In my opinion, developing your intuition is one of the greatest gifts you can give yourself.

Go with the Flow

Do you experience ease and flow in your life? Are you at peace with where your life is, or do you constantly worry, try to force the answers or attempt to control everything that comes your way? Do you enjoy the rhythm of your life, or are you stressed out, worried, anxious and constantly on the go, even when you don’t have to be?

Understanding your own natural rhythm, as well as the natural order of life, can bring not only more peaceful fluidity, but also moments of ecstasy and joy.

Make Up or Break Up… Create a Life to Go Toward

When is it time to go? When is it best to stay? What drives people to stay in relationships when there is a deep knowing that it does not really work anymore? When are you pleasing others so much that you forget who you are and how to take care of yourself? Without nurturing ourselves and others, eventually, our behaviors and choices can lead to losing people we love and care about very much, whether we are in romantic partnerships, friendships or even professional relationships.

Don’t Settle for Being Second

“It’s a funny thing about life. If you refuse to settle for anything less than the best, that’s what it will give you.” – Somerset Maugham

I started to think about how many times people settle for being second, as opposed to truly embracing being first. Two is a great number for partnerships, but when it comes to having authentic, fulfilling relationships, how often do you or others you know settle for being the consolation prize?

“Each friend represents a world in us, a world possibly not born until they arrive, and it is only by this meeting that a new world is born.” – Anais Nin

Have you looked at the company you are keeping lately? Do you like what you see? Are you being honored by the people around you? Are your friendships reciprocal?

“We define ourselves by the best that is in us, not the worst that has been done to us.” – Edward Lewis

In thinking about women of today, I am amazed at how incredible women are. Women have businesses or careers, manage households, raise children, connect with romantic partners…

Create Your Life Adventure: Take a Break

“Because of our routines we forget that life is an ongoing adventure.”
-Maya Angelou

When is the last time you really got away? Where have you been lately that has allowed you to mentally leave your work behind, enjoy time off, relax, create a new memory and really do what you want?
